A Study of an Art program for Developing Creativity

The prupose of the study was 1) to examine the effectiveness of 'The Development of Creativity” program based on DBAE and. 2) to determine the future applicability and implementation of an art program for developing creativity to primary education. The study included the list of 'The Development of Creativity' art programs and the content of three representative program(painting, instalilation and performance) from three main categories(two-dimension, three-dimension and performance). Fifteen children enrolled in 'The Development of Creativity' an program move than on year were sampled as subject of the study to examine the effectiveness of the programs with regard to children's cognitive, affective and aesthetic development in their outcome. The findings of the study were as follows: 1) There was a significant difference in children’s cognitive, affective and aesthetic development. 2) As a result, the program was evaluated highly in its efficiency in terms of its educational effectiveness for developing creativity. The recommendations for the future applicability and implementation of an art program for developing creativity were as follows: 1) More research on art programs for developing creativity is needed in general. 2) For more effective instructional methods, materials and equipment should be developed and experimented for elementary school teachers to implement the program.
