A study on the theory and practice of art education in Steiner's educational thought

The purpose of this paper is to discuss Steiner's educational philosophy of art education. Steiner believed a aman as having four components and growing up while passing through a crucial stage that came every seven years. Steiner's educational thought placed more stick in educating children's soul, pursued education for the whole man with balanced soul, body and spirit, and tried to attain it through art education. Steiner believed that 'all education is art und art is essential element in the education', So Steiner argued lesson be made up of artistic elements from the beginning to the end, and tried to cultivate children's inner world through artistic elements promote each child's artistic feelings and make them a free, autonomous and balanced human being. This paper describe first, Steiner's thought on education, second, Steiner's though on art education, third, practice of art education in Steiner's school, especially about 'Form lesson' and 'Watercolor lesson'.
