This study purposes to investigate the background and the objectives of the 6th and the 7th Curriculum in Korea, and examine what DBAE(Discipline-Based Art Education) influences to the Art Curriculum. Since DBAE has been based on Discipline-Centered Education, I partly mentioned the 3th Curriculum which had been developed upon the Discipline-Centered Education. The results of this study are as follows. First, The 6th Art Curriculum Explanation presented Aesthetics, Art Criticism, Art History and Art Production in DBAE but did not directly use the term, DBAE. Second, the description of aesthetics has been limited comparing to other areas. It might be that it has been reconstructed considering Korean situation. Third, Because the term, art experience has the characteristic of formalism in the Art Curriculum, it might give the limit to develop the art thinking ability which Art Experience area tries to pursue. Therefore, even though the content of aesthetics in DBAE might not be easily understandable, we can face many questions that can be related with the content of aesthetics in art classroom. To bring out the art thinking ability, the understanding of the issues of aesthetics, that is, the art concept, the art works, artworld, context of art, and so on is required.
