This study aimed to propose effective web-based methods for teaching and learning to improve the creativities in the education of computer graphic design for Industrial high school students, focusing on advertisement designs. Theories on computer graphic design education were firstly considered and then the current design education in Industrial high schools was reviewed, followed by search for teaching and learning methods for computer graphic designs to improve the creativity. Desirable plans to improve the creativity derived from this study include the following. First, to develop teaching and learning materials to be utilized in classes of computer graphic designing and to improve creativities, it is recommended that creative learning materials should be selected, research process should be established for creative thoughts, materials needed for computer graphic design learning should be scrapped in group activities, and scrap cards should be prepared, analyzed, and evaluated. Second, creative ideas and paired-associate learning should be encouraged, creative thoughts trained, and creative ideas visualized. Third, it is also recommended that computer graphic designing should be included in the curriculum of the first and second semesters of second graders in Industrial high schools. The web-based computer graphic design teaching and learning models and the standard criteria for evaluating and measuring practical techniques were developed. Considering the above-mentioned plans, web-based teaching and learning programs were prepared and suggested to improve creativities after conducting classes of advertisement designs utilizing CD case design.
