Today, South and North Koreas are faced with the very important phase for restoring national homogeneity and building a new national community. With respect to education, national homogeneity should be taken precedence over anything else for moving up to the ideal unification in Korea. To reach this goal, our consistent efforts should be demanded. The purpose of this study was to look for the direction of South and North Korean cultural art education in order to restore Korean national homogeneity. It is said that the common education mottos found in South and North Korea are holistic human being, basic practical norm, and moral nature. These three characteristics would be the center for educating Korean national homogeneity. The basic study for this would be followings; joint development of National Art Curriculum and art textbooks with regional and cultural features. Especially, education should be focused on finding traditional Korean art and artwork, which South and North Korea could share in many ways, and re-finding unified both Korea's new one. In addition, enthusiastic cultural exchange between two countries could lead to find out our common aesthetic attitude and artistic value, and finally, it would be the good opportunity to understand each other in themselves. Because North Korean art is about socialism in its expression with unique character, it is deeply connected to political ideology and class society in art, which is hard to be understood. But our efforts for cultural art education focused on traditional art culture and cultural exchange in education should be continued for restoring Korean national homogeneity.
