We hereby discuss fully about the significance of the 7th national art curriculum and educational reform along with the development of general outline and details of it. The 7th national curriculum is executed in nation-wide schools right now. Every school practices the national curriculum. We assess whether the 7th national art curriculum is effectively managed and practiced in schools by exam of art curricula, art textbooks and classroom environments. Some art teachers have serious problems preparing for lesson plans. Some students do not show any interests in art because they have difficulties understanding art. Although art textbooks introduce various of art activities for students, art teachers often have difficulties teaching in art and students also have difficulties learning from it. Furthermore, classroom environments are extremely poor. Many art teachers request to have well-prepared proper art classroom equipment for quality art lessons. In this study, we also discuss the similarities and differences of the 6th and 7th national art curriculum such as directions, goals, contents, characteristics, teaching methods, and evaluation. We suggest that the reform of national art curriculum has to be done more concretely and precisely spending more time to research and develop. And art education researchers and educators must reconsider more seriously educational environments, educational circumstances, student needs, art textbooks, and teaching lesson plans because they directly affect students learning in schools.
