The perfonnance assessment focuses mainly on the understanding and accomplishment of the students during lessons by observing students’s performance. The achievement standard is standardizing for actual teaching-lesson activities which clarify what students should accomplish from the art lessons. Performance assessment is a kind of new evaluation system applied with the 7th national curriculum reform. Now all subjects in school apply the performance assessment. Although many primary and secondary school teachers are complaining about inadequateness of its system methods. Performance assessment requires that all school subjects be practiced several times per semester. Nevertheless it doubles the workload for school teachers. In this study, I have examined 4 things: 1) the types of performance assessment in the art subject applied by the 7th national art curriculum 2) adequateness and validity of the performance assessment task and the standard of performance assessment based on the performance assessment tools done by some art classes in primary and secondary schools 3) diagnosis of the problems the performance assessment system has 4) looking for the betterment of performance assessment.
