미술교육은 인간의 이성과 감성의 조화로운 정서와 성장을 발달시키고 궁극적으로는 바람직한 인성을 갖추는 데 도움을 준다. 다른 사람과 구별되는 사고와 태도, 행동의 특성을 인성이라고 한다면, 인성교육은 인간 존중을 바탕으로 인간성, 인간의 태도, 가치관 등의 인간다운 인간을 교육하는 것을 의미한다. 또한 인성교육은 인간다운 면모와 자질을 갖추기 위한 교육으로서, 타인 및 공동체와 바람직한 관계를 형성할 수 있도록 하는 일련의 가치교육, 도덕교육, 인격교육이라 할 수 있다.
Yulgok's concept on human education is similar to that of modern education system which pursues a desirable human nature through the modern education for the whole man. Therefore the purpose of this study is to know how teaching method of character education in art curriculum is based on Yulgok's educational theory of human nature. As a result of observing subjects for 6~15 months actually by teaching them above art activity programs it is found that children come to have a right sense of value, confidence and pride inspired by the programs. Also, it's found that when children see the works which they thought are completed for themselves after art activities, they have a feeling of satisfaction. Then, as a part of desirable children character education, by presenting a children art instruction by Yulgok's character education theory, applying and analyzing it actually, and through a creative experience activity which is sought in Korean present curriculum, it is intended to solidify a foundation for attracting a curriculum which corresponds with the goal of the integrated character education among the educational system of inclusive areas of subjects. And it is expected that also in art education area, by building a basis for education in Korea's traditional study and having a meaningful motivation to devise a property of only our character education, study will be done with another relation between educational systems in the future.
