It has been five years since the implementation of the admission officer system to resolve the two periodic tasks - to activate public education and to strengthen autonomy of universities. Despite the several concerns in the beginning, results of many researches and reports supporting the effectiveness of the Admission Officer System were announced one after another and the increase in the actual number of the implementing universities have proven the system to be one of the most advanced university admissions systems until this day. Hence, new ways of skill tests and other types of examinations which evaluate various talents of students have been introduced during the past 13 years. As types of entrance examinations for schools of art have been diversified, several universities have actively executed the Admission Officer System as the best solution for the examination. According to this research, the holistic evaluation process of the Admission Officer System can evaluate many art and design-related qualities. Futhermore, there are many possibilities that the Admission Officer System can solve various problems from the past entrance examination systems. For this research, I accept these changes in a positive perspective and propose several steps to settle and improve the Admission Officer System for schools of art in Korean universities. In conclusion, each university must first establish own concept of talent and academic curriculums, and also should establish proper substantial proposal for the Admission Officer System to develop and specialize own entrance examination processes. Accordingly, the ways of entrance examinations should be precisely directed based on the concept of talent and curriculums of each university.
