This research is to study how Studies of cognitive-behavioral art therapy that involves both a mother and a child influence social development of the child. The subjects of this research are upper middle class children who have not yet entered school but are staying home with their mothers because they had problems with communal living (e.g. pre-school). The mothers and their children were introduced to the author in a situation where everyone was extremely stressed, and they were able to participate in the program of cognitive-behavioral art therapy. The problems of these children subjects are common issues among children who come from nuclear families with a small number of family members. In contemporary society, families often have one or two children even though their standard of living is quite high. The author has chosen this topic because a program with mothers is significant. The Korean Version of Social Skill Rating System was used to test the children before and after the study, and the researcher observed and recorded the behaviors and languages of the children during the process. The first result of this study was that the study of cognitive-behavioral art therapy had much effect on the sense of public order as well as on the confidence of mothers and children. Also, there was a slight difference between the expressions of emotions. Secondly, it was a meaningful and educational time for the mothers who participated.
