본 연구는 한국과 일본 초등학교 교사의 자기지도성과 직무만족도를 조사하여 비교분석 한 것으로 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국 초등학교 교사들이 지각하는 자기지도성이 일본 초등학교 교사들보다 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 하위 영역인 자기 기대, 리허설, 목표설정, 자기보상, 자기비판, 건설적 사고 영역 모두에서 한국 교사들의 점수가 일본 초등학교 교사들보다 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 교사의 자기지도성에 대한 인식에서 한국은 남교사가 여교사보다 유의하게 높게 인식 하였으며, 부설초등학교에 근무하는 교사의 인식이 일반 초등학교 교사보다 유의하게 높았다. 일본의 경우 25세 이하의 교사와 41세 이상의 교사가 다른 연령대의 교사보다 자기지도성을 유 의하게 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 한국 초등학교 교사들의 직무만족도는 일본 초등학교 교사들보다 크게 높았으며 통계 적으로도 유의하였다. 넷째, 한국과 일본 초등 교사 모두 자기지도성과 직무만족도 사이에는 유의한 상관관계가 있 지만, 각 변인의 하위 영역 사이에서는 공통적으로 유의한 상관관계를 나타내는 경우는 없었다.
Self-leadership defined as the ability to control personal actions and to harness personal strengths and job satisfaction that describes how content an individual is with one’s own job are important factors in developing today’s teachers. A survey study was conducted to examine the differences and relationships between self-leadership and job satisfaction of elementary teachers of Korea and Japan. The study has been carried on with 203 elementary school teachers of the two countries. The data gathered to investigate the relationships were analyzed by using i-Stat package program. As a result of the analyzes, it is found that the perception of the elementary school teachers in Korea on self-leadership was significantly higher than that of Japan. Characteristic patterns of relationships between the two domains were revealed in the two countries with the background variables of the teachers. Also, the perception of the elementary school teachers in Korea on job satisfaction were significantly higher than that of Japan. In both countries, there was highly significant relationship between self-leadership and job satisfaction. However, no significant common relationships were revealed in the subdomains of two domains. Implications of the differences and relationships between self-leadership and job satisfaction are discussed.
