본 연구의 목적은 바깥놀이에서의 미술․과학 통합활동이 유아의 과학적 탐구능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치 는지 알아보는 데 있다. 만5세 유아를 대상으로 20회의 실험처치를 실시한 후 사후검사 점수에서 사전검 사 점수를 뺀 증가분에 대한 t검정을 실시하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 유아의 과학적 탐구 능력에는 집단 간에 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 구성요소별로 살펴보면, 관찰하기, 분류하기, 측정하기, 추리하기, 예 측하기, 의사소통하기 등에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
This study investigated that the effects of an integration of art and science in outdoor activities on children’s scientific capability. The research questions in this study are following: How will an integration of art and science in outdoor activities affect children’s scientific capability? 48 children(5 years old) who are attending to two public kindergartens located in the Daegu Metropolitan City in South Korea were participated in this study. An experimental group consisted of the 24 children from S kindergarten and a control group that comprised of the 24 children from D kindergarten. The experimental group experienced the integration of art and science in outdoor activities from 5-May-2016 to 15-July-2016(for 10 weeks). This study employed a kinds of checklists proposed by Cho(2015) to measure scientific capacity of children. To verify the research questions, the different scores between each group’s pre-test and post-test were calculated, and then t-test was conducted about average of incremental scores. The major findings through this study are as follows: scientific capability in the experimental group improved more than that of in the control group(p<.05). This study demonstrated that the integration of art and science in outdoor activities has a positive effect on 5-year-old children’s scientific capability.
