일과 여가균형 정도에 따른 남성 베이비부머의 여가시간, 여가생활만족 및 행복수준의 차이

The Differences on Leisure Time, Leisure Life Satisfaction and the Degree of Happiness of Male Baby Boomers Based on Their Work and Life Balance

본 연구는 베이비부머의 일과 여가균형 정도에 따른 여가시간, 여가생활만족 및 행복수준의 차이를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 「2016 국민여가활동조사」를 원자료로 사용하였으며, 조사기간 현재 수도권에 거주하고 있는 일하는 남성 55년~63년생 베이비부머 213명을 대상으로 하였다. 일과 여가의 균형은‘일에 더 집중하는 집단’, ‘일과 여가의 균형 집단’, ‘여가에 더 집중하는 집단’으로 나누었다. 일과 여가의 균형 각 집단에 따라 여가시간, 여가생활만족, 행복수준의 차이 결과는 여가시간 충분도와 자유도, 여가생활만족 및 행복수준에는 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 구체적으로 살펴보면, 첫째 일과 여가의 균형에 따라 남성베이비부머의 여가시간에는 차이가 없었으나 여가시간 충분도와 자유도는 차이가 있었다. 여가에 집중하는 남성 베이비부머들이 여가시간 충분도와 자유도를 가장 많이 느끼고 있었다. 둘째, 일과 여가의 균형에 따라 남성 베이비부머의 여가생활만족과 행복수준에는 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 여가에 집중하는 남성 베이비부머들의 여가생활만족과 행복수준이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 남성 베이비부머의 일과 여가 균형감이 여가시간의 질적 요인과 행복수준에 중요한 요인임을 보여준다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences on leisure time, leisure life satisfaction and the degree of happiness of male baby boom generation based on their work and life balance. This study utilized 2016 National Leisure Activities Survey as an original source and took 213 male baby boomers residing in the metropolitan area born between 1955 and 1963. Their work and life balance was divided into 3 groups: Those who were wiling to concentrate on their works, those who were trying to balance between work and life, and those who were wiling to concentrate on their leisure. There were meaningful differences in leisure time adequacy, and the degree of leisure time freedom, leisure life satisfaction and the degree of happiness by groups. First, it is found that there was no difference in leisure time but there were differences in leisure time adequacy and the degree of leisure time freedom of the male baby boomers. It could mean that those willing to concentrate on their leisure tended to feel stronger their leisure time adequacy and the degree of their leisure time freedom than the others did. Second, there were meaningful differences in their leisure life satisfaction and the degree of happiness, which could be interpreted that those willing to concentrate on their leisure showed the highest level of their leisure life satisfaction and the degree of happiness. These results demonstrated that life and leisure balance of male baby boomers could be an important determinant in their leisure time in quality and the degree of happiness.
