기후변화 수업 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경의식에 미치는 영향

Impact of Climate Change Instruction Program on Elementary Students Environmental Consciousness

본 연구의 목적은 기후변화가 생태계에 미치는 영향이라는 수업 프로그램을 개발 적용하여 학생들의 환경의식의 변화를 알아보고, 학생들이 미래 지구환경이 어떻게 변화될 것으로 예상하는지를 알아보는데 있다. 이 연구에는 초등학교 6학년 학생 27명이 참여하였다. 이 연구를 위해 에너지 기후변화 프로그램을 개발적용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다; 첫째, 학생들은 기후변화가 생태계에 미치는 영향이라는 수업 프로그램의 적용 결과, 환경에 대한 태도와 환경에 대한 가치판단에서 모두 통계적으로 유의미한 변화가 나타났다(p>0.01). 둘째, 학생들이 제시한 미래 환경의 변화는 지구온난화(40.8%)와 빙하기의 도래(33.3%)가 많이 제시되었으며(74.1%), 인공지능 로봇 상용화, 인터넷 중독, 미세먼지, 동물의 변화 등을 제시한 학생들(25.9%)이 있었다. 지구 온난화에 대해서는 지구환경의 사막화, 극지방의 빙하가 녹아 물의 범람 등을 제시하는 것으로 분류될 수 있었다. 기타의 응답으로 인터넷 사용 급증, 인공지능 이용의 일상화 등을 제시하기도 하였다. 셋째, 미래 지구환경 변화로 인한 동물은 알렌의 법칙과 베르그만의 법칙에 따라 동물이 달라질 것으로 예상했다. 즉, 지구 온난화로 인해서는 몸이 작아지고 말단이 커지고, 추워진 환경에서는 몸집이 커지고 말단이 작아지는 상황을 설명하였다. 또한, 지구 온난화로 인해 물이 많아져 물속에서 살 수 있는 인류의 탄생, 날아다니는 펭귄, 물에 떠다니는 북극곰 등을 제시하기도 하였다. 학생들의 상상력의 범주가 다양한 스펙트럼을 나타내지는 않은 것을 알 수 있다. 또한, 미래의 동물로 제시되는 동물군이 사람을 포함한 포유류 혹은 조류로 표현되고 있다는 것이다. 지구에서 가장 많은 종의 수, 개체수를 지니고 있는 곤충 등에 대해서는 제시되지 않았는데, 이것은 관련된 생물학적 지식이 많지 않기 때문인 것으로 분석된다.

The purpose of this study is to develop a class program of impacts of climate change on the ecosystem, to examine changes in students environmental awareness, to understand how students expect the future global environment to change. For this study, 27 6th graders were participated in. And we developed and applied Climate Change Instruction Program. The results of the study are as follows; First, students showed statistically significant changes in both environmental attitudes and environmental values (p>0.01) as a result of application of a lesson program on climate change impacts on ecosystems. Second, the changes of the future environment suggested by students showed many of the global warming (40.8%) and the coming of the Ice Age (33.3%), and artificial intelligence robots were used everyday life, internet addiction, fine dust (25.9%), Global warming could be classified as presenting desertification of the global environment, melting of polar glaciers and flooding of water. Other respondents also pointed to the surge in Internet use and the use of artificial intelligence. Third, the animals due to future global environmental changes predicted animals will change according to Allen s Rule and Bergman s Rule. In addition, we have presented the birth of New mankind, the flying penguin, and polar bears floating in the water because of the increase in water due to global warming. It can be seen that the categories of students imagination do not represent a diverse spectrum. In addition, the animals presented as future animals are represented as mammals or birds, including humans. The largest number of species on the planet, insects with populations, etc. have not been addressed, which is interpreted to be due to the lack of relevant biological knowledge.
