자녀를 잃은 아버지들의 삶에 관한 탐색적 연구

An Exploratory Study on The Father’s Life Who Have Lost His Child in The Sewol Ferry Disaster

본 연구는 세월호 재난으로 자녀를 잃은 슬픔과 고통에 잠겨있는 아버지들의 삶의 경험을 탐색하였다. 본 연구는 주제분석방법의 질적 접근을 통한 연구로서, 참여자는 세월호 재난으로 자녀를 잃은 총 12명의 아버지, 어머니였다. 참여자들의 직접 경험과 관찰을 통해 보고된 심층면접 자료에서 총 35개의 의미단위, 12개의 드러난 주제, 5개의 본질적 주제가 도출되었다. 연구결과, 부모에게있어 삶의 전부인 자녀를 상실한 아버지의 삶의 변화를 통해, 자녀를 잃은 아버지들은 일과 직장 을 대하는 인식 및 태도에서의 변화가 나타나며 다양한 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 한편으로, 자녀를 잃은 아버지들은 자발적으로 교육, 사회, 경제적 공동체 조직을 위해 노력하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 시사점을 논의하였다.

This study explored the life experiences of fathers who are suffering from sadness and grief at the loss of their children due to Sewol Ferry disaster. In this study, which was accessed by qualitative method, the participants were 7 fathers and 5 mothers. A total of 35 semantic units, 12 exposed topics, and 5 essential themes were derived from the in-depth interviews reported through the direct experience and observation of the participants. Fathers who lost their children experienced various difficulties due to changes in their perceptions and attitudes toward work and workplace, through changes in the lives of fathers who lost their children that were their whole lives. Additionally, this study shows that bereaved fathers voluntarily try to organize educational, social, and economic community. Finally, implications of this study were discussed.
