한국 점자 규정의 수학 점자 개정 방안 탐색

An Exploratory Study on the Revisions to Math Braille of Korean Braille Code

이 연구는 통일영어점자의 개발 원칙과 2017 개정 한국 점자 규정의 수학 점자 개정 방향을 고찰함으로써 한국 점자 규정의 수학 점자 개정 방안을 탐색하는 것이 목적이었다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 통일영어점자의 개발 원칙을 분야별 규정 간 통합, 묵자와 점자의 호환성, 점자 기호의 확장성이라는 세 가지 원칙으로 개념화하였고 통일영어점자의 수학 점자 특징을 예시하였다. 둘째, 2017 수학 점자의 개정 방향을 분야별 점자 규정 간 통합화, 수학 기호 간의 일반화, 묵자로의 보편화, 점자만의 특수화라는 네 가지 개정 방향을 개념화하였고 그에 해당하는 개정 내용을 설명하였다. 마지막으로, 통일영어점자의 개발 원칙과 2017 수학 점자의 개정 방향을 근거로 괄호 점형 개정, 로마자 쉼표 적용, 그리스 문자의 대문자 기호와 소문자 기호 변경 등 9개의 수학 점자 개정 사항을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the revisions to math braille of 2017 Korean Braille Code (KBC) based on the principles of Unified English Braille (UEB) and the key directions for revising KBC. This study identified three principles of the UEB (i.e., unification of various braille codes, compatibility between print and braille, and expandability of braille symbols), and illustrated the rules of the UEB. This study also identified key directions taken to revise KBC (i.e., unification of various braille codes, generalization of math braille symbols, compatibility with print, and specialization of braille symbols) and presented the revisions of math braille in 2017-revised KBC. Lastly, this study proposed nine revisions to math braille for future KBC.
