Tang and Song dynasties are two most important periods in Chinese tea history. The first Block tea(餠茶) seemed to be made during the Three Kingdom periods, but the heritage was carried over to Tang and Song dynasties. The form of two cake teas was decided by the frames used in the forming process called BakDa(拍茶) and JoDa(造茶). The forms used in Block tea was one piece frame called Gyu, but two pieces frame was used in Cake tea(團茶) which was called Gwoen(圈) and Mo(模). Also this paper tries new interpretation about “茶成擧以易之” and defined the role of Bak (撲) as a tool to widen the small hole made by sharp awl.
