지방대학 이공계 학생들의 취업준비에 관한 연구

이 논문은 지방대학 이공계 학생들의 취업준비 현황을 분석하여 지방대학생들의 취업률을 제고하기 위한 방안 마련을 위한 기초로 삼고자 하였다. 연구는 문헌연구와 설문조사를 병행하였으며, 문헌연구는 선행연구에 나타난 대학생들의 취업현황, 취업준비현황, 대학내취업지도 현황 등을 검토하였다. 연구결과 지방대학 이공계 학생들은 입학초기부터 진로나 취업준비에 계획적이고 치밀하게 준비를 하고 있지 않지만, 졸업 후 단기간 내에 자신이 원하는 부분에 취업할 수 있다는 낙관적인 생각을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 이공계 학생들이 재학 중에 배운 전문적 지식이나 기술을 자신의 적성과 흥미를 고려한 직장에서 제대로 쓰기 위해서는 대학이 중심이 되어 학생의 요구를 반영하고 성별 특성을 고려하여 진로 및 취업준비를 지원하는 다양한 프로그램이 제공되고 활용되어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the present conditions and needs for getting jobs in the field of science and technology local college students. In this study, I reviewed many studies and materials to examine the present conditions, pre-understanding in their jobs. And I analyzed the survey data of 215 4-year college students to find out a level of job choice, career decision efficacy, self-confidence in working life, career exploring activities, and job support system within college institutions for science and technology college students. Major findings of this study are summarized as follows; First, despite the urgency for career decision during college education, 4-year college students get into trobles in non-choice of career, lack of job information. Second, many 4-year college students are not ready to the world of work and do not take part in preparing the programs for career exploration and job choice. Third, students take an optimistic view of participating in the field they want to and entering labor market. But they are lack of self-confidence in working life and linguistic ability. Fourth, students are lack of understanding and do not utilize the facilities for career guidance and job choice within University. Fifth, students have a highly demand for providing special programs and institutions with which science and technology college students can explore and choice their career in self-directed. Therefore, the diverse programs and support systems should be established to prepare for career choice in science and technology college students. And the program considered needs and gender factors of those students are designed.
