생태적 학교환경 구축 방안

A Study on the Construction of Ecological School Environments

한국 같이 장시간 학교생활을 하고 있는 학생들은 신체적인 건강뿐만 아니라 정신적인 건강까지 고려한 학교건축 및 시설의 생태적 환경구성은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 생태건축의 개념이 등장한 이후 현행 학교건축 및 시설의 문제는 무엇이고, 생태적 학교환경 구축을 위한 정부의 노력은 어떻게 이루어지고 있는가를 검토하며, 새로운 생태적 건축 기준을 충족시킬 수 있는 학교 시설 및 환경은 어떻게 구성되어야 하는가를 논의하고 있다. 현행 학교환경은 건축물의 계획, 설계, 생산, 유지관리 그리고 폐기에 이르는 전 과정에서 총체적인 문제점을 보이고 있다. 교실의 비효율적인 에너지 관리문제뿐만 아니라 실내 환경과 실외환경 모두 노화되고 친환경자재 사용이 매우 부족하다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 정부는 친환경 인증 제도를 학교 건축에까지 적용하고, 이의 관리감독을 위한 ‘평가지표’까지 도입하였다. 그러나 아직도 친환경 학교 시설 및 환경 정책은 홍보적 차원 혹은 부분적 개선에 머물고 있다. 본 연구는 이런 상황에서 생태적 실내 환경과 실외환경 구축을 위한 구체적인 방안을 제시하고 있다. 특히 실내 환경과 관련해서는 실내온도, 공기 및 환경오염 방지시설, 에너지 절감, 쾌적한 조명 등에 대해, 실외환경과 관련해서는 소음방지, 옥상생태서식지화, 학교 숲 가꾸기 등의 방안을 제안하였다. 이는 향후 학교의 친환경적 건축을 활성화시키는 계기를 마련해서 신체적-정신적 건강성을 회복 유지시킬 수 있는 학교환경을 만들뿐만 아니라 학생들이 수업을 받을 수 있는 최적의 시설조건을 확립하는데 도움이 줄 것이다.

Ecological-environmental construction considers not only students physical health but also their mental health. This is very important to Korean students as they spend long hours at school. This survey examines what the problems and limitations of current school buildings and facilities have on students in regards to the concept of ecological construction. It will then look at how we can optimize school facilities and environments as to satisfy new ecologicalconstruction standards. Current school environments show overall problems with planing, design, construction and maintenance of school buildings. Energy management of classrooms is very inefficient. Both indoor and outdoor environments are very time-worn and lack environmentally-friendly materials. To resolve these problems, the government has applied an environmentally-friendly certification system, even to school construction. A valuation basis will control this system. Under these circumstances, this survey suggests concrete measures for the establishment of ecologically friendly indoor and outdoor environments. This study shows that to improve in indoor environment schools need to have more room temperature, facilities for air and environmental pollution prevention, saving energy, pleasant illumination. Also outdoor environments need to focus on having more antinoise, ecological habitats on rooftops and other outdoor spaces. This will enable the future construction of environmentally-friendly schools. It will also make students school lives more pleasant, and promote the health and well being of teachers and students.
