This research is to discuss the characteristics of the English teaching materials related with elementary English textbook. In 2011, we have used the 14 types of authorized elementary English textbooks for both 3rd grade and 4th grade by the partially revised elementary English curriculum in 2007 and 2008 consecutively. Standards difference between USA and Korea is very crucial point of material development. In USA socio-cultural aspects have been emphasized in view of multi-cultures and ethnography of immigrants societies. In Korea, these aspects have recently been introduced and they are on the very superficial stage of introducing foreign culture.
