Narrative Analysis on Elementary Science Gifted Teachers for Improving Gifted Program

This research aims to determine the solutions to enhance the program. In order to accomplish its objective, the experiences of three elementary teachers of the science gifted problems of the elementary science gifted education program through the experience analysis of teachers who took part in the gifted education, and to suggest education were analyzed in depth using narrative inquiry which is effective in analyzing their experiences. The results of the research showed that there were three main issues to consider for the improvement of elementary science gifted program. These were the selection of science gifted students, the expertise of teachers that affect on the success of gifted education, and the content enrichment of the science gifted program. Suggestions for the improvement of elementary science gifted education were establishing a council of local gifted education which could decide the selection method by considering local characteristics; supporting teacher societies for the science gifted research and providing stable working environment; giving enough time for planning gifted educational programs, and managing the quality of science gifted programs by expanding and supporting regional science gifted educational institutions.
