자기성찰의 사회과교육적 실천 방안: 다시쓰기 를 중심으로

Study on Measures to Realize Self-reflection in Social Studies: Focused on Rewriting

본 연구는 사회과교육에서 학습자의 주체적이고 능동적인 의미구성 과정의 중요한 양상으로서 ``자기성찰``을 제안하고, 이를 위한 사회과교육 실천방안을 모색하였다. ``자기성찰``은 ``대상``을 통하여 자기를 이해하는 일련의 사고행위를 가리키는 것으로, 대상의 의미를 탐색하는 과정을 통하여 자신을 되돌아보고 새롭게 발견·이해함으로써 세계와 자신의 삶에 대한 가치와 태도를 정향하는 의식활동이다. 사회과교육을 통한 ``자기성찰``은 학습자가 교과의 지식과 가치의 의미를 탐색하는 과정 속에서 그것이 나에게 가지는 상황적이고 맥락적인 의미를 구성함으로써 학습자 자신을 발견·이해하고 나아가 자기의 변화와 성숙을 도모할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 사회과 텍스트를 중심으로 한 교수-학습 상황에서의 자기성찰을 구현할 수 있는 하나의 실천방안으로 학습자와 사회과 텍스트의 만남과 대화를 통한 새로운 의미구성의 과정인 ``다시쓰기``를 제안하였다. 자기성찰을 위한 사회과교육 실천방안으로서 ``다시쓰기``의 가능성을 모색하고 다시쓰기가 이루어지는 읽기와 쓰기 국면, 그 결과물을 매개로 한 토의 국면에서의 자기성찰 전략을 제시해 보았다.

Considering the perspectives of the individual development model which values the holistic growth of a learner through the social studies education, the study suggested the self-reflection as one of meaningful aspects in the process of the learner`s organizing a sense of subjectivity and activeness, which leads to the individual changes and full growth. The study considered the ``self-reflection`` a thinking behavior that a person understands himself through an ``object``. Here, the person is able to look back on himself and discovers new things as he searches for the meaning of the object. This way, the person refreshes himself with new values and attitudes towards the life. In other words, the meaning of the ``self-reflection`` through the social studies education indicates that it encourages the learners to achieve the individual changes and full growth as they build up any situational, contextual meanings which suit themselves in the process of their searching for knowledge and values that a subject possesses. As an action plan which realizes the self-reflection in the teaching-learning situation focused on the text of the social studies, the study came up with ``rewriting`` which is considered to be an organization of a new meaning, based on a meeting and a conversation between the learners and the text of the social studies.
