The purpose of this research is to provide primary material for teachers by analyzing the characteristics of instrumental ensemble piece comparing them with different textbooks of various publishing company. Thus, I figure out the proportion of instrumental activities in each textbook focusing on the instrumental field in western music of 6 textbooks, currently used in elementary school, 5th and 6th grade. The result of this research suggests as follows; 1. Instrumental music and singing, creation, and appreciation should be evenly connected in integrative material. 2. It is important to provide the ample contents of activities related to instrument. 3. Some research is needed to compare the connection between 5th and 6th grade of elementary and middle school textbook. As there are various kinds of textbook and more choices, these findings contribute to supporting of teachers` choice and providing essential material of instrumental activities, and have significant implication for them to teach better classes.
