The purpose of the research was to develop performance assessment model for art education instruction of elementary school. The subject of ``finding works of art around us`` was selected with the model of ‘learning interest`` in order to decide the method of performance assessment and develop assessment the instrument at the primary level. This performance assessment method and assessment instrument was selected and developed in the following order: performance assessment model, flow of the lesson, instructional guide plan, assessment purpose and plan, rubric to evaluate final products, feedback plan according to assessment results, activity worksheet and/or evaluation sheet, activity worksheet sample, and so on. Classroom teachers need to be selective and/or adjustable about the performance assessment for units they are recommended instead of accepting it unconditionally according to objectives of the units, class size, number of students and so on.
