질적 자료 분석을 위한 포괄적 분석절차 탐구: 실용적 절충주의를 중심으로

An Inquiry on the Inclusive Analytic Procedures for Qualitative Data Analysis: Based on the Pragmatic Eclecticism

이 글의 목적은 질적 자료 분석에 대한 문헌고찰을 통하여 하나의 포괄적인 분석절차를 마련하고, 각 분석절차에 따른 다양한 코딩과 분석기법을 예시적으로 제시하는 데 있다. 첫째, 이 글은 실용적 절충주의 입장에서 6단계의 포괄적 분석절차(반복적 자료 읽기/질적 자료 관리하기→분석적 메모 쓰기→1차 코딩→2차코딩→3차 코딩→연구결과 재현)를 구안하였다. 실용적 절충주의에 기초한 포괄적 분석절차는 선형적이고 순차적인 것이 아니라, 순환적이고 반복적이며, 개연적 삼단논법(abduction)에 기초하였다. 둘째, 이 글은 6단계의 포괄적 분석절차 가운데 핵심적 요소들로 볼 수 있는 분석적 메모 쓰기, 1차 코딩, 2차 코딩, 3차코딩에 한정하여 각 단계별 코딩 및 분석기법을 논의하였다. 셋째, 이 글은 포괄적 분석절차에서의 핵심적인 원리로서 개연적 삼단논법을 강조하였다. 포괄적 분석절차에서의 개연적 삼단논법은 분석절차와 코딩기법을 심층적으로 이해하고, 적용하며, 고유한 분석절차를 개발하는데 유용하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 질적자료 분석에서의 포괄적인 분석절차와 코딩기법에 대한 방법적 지식을 제공함으로써 교육연구의 방법론적 엄격성을 강화하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

The aim of this paper is to develop an inclusive analytic procedures through literature review on the qualitative data analysis(QDA). Also, this paper is aimed at delineating various coding methods and analytic techniques according to inclusive analytic procedures. Firstly, this paper developed an inclusive analytic procedures(eg. iterative reading/management of qualitative data→writing analytic memo→first coding→second coding→third coding→representation of results) in terms of pragmatic eclecticism. An inclusive analytic procedures based on the pragmatic eclecticism is not linear and successive but cyclic and iterative. Secondly, this paper delineated and discussed coding method and analytic techniques according to essential components of analytic procedures from writing analytic memo to third coding. Thirdly, this study also stressed abduction as principle or logic in QDA. The logic as abduction in the QDA was useful for developing unique analytic procedures. Also, the logic of abduction was available for understanding and application of analytic procedures and coding techniques. The results of this paper will reinforce methodological rigor in educational research through suggesting methodic knowledge on the analytic procedures and coding techniques.
