학부모의 학교활동 참여가 초등학생의 학업성취에 미치는 영향

The Influence of Parent’s School Activity Participation on Elementary School Student’s Academic Achievement

본 연구는 부산교육종단연구 2차년도(2017년도) 데이터를 활용하여 부산광역시 초등학생 학부모의 학교활동 참여가 초등학생의 학업성취에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 학부모 학교활동 참여 활성화를 위한 정책적 제언을 제시하였다. 초등학생 학부모 학교활동 참여는 학부모수준에서의 학교활동 참여와 학교수준에서의 학교활동 참여로 구성된다. 학부모수준 변수는 부모의 SES, 부모의 교육지원, 부모 자녀 관계, 부모의 학교활동 참여 횟수, 부모의 학교만족도이며, 학교수준 변수는 학부모 모니터링 인원, 학부모 모니터링 횟수, 학교장의 학부모나 지역사회관계, 교사의 학부모나 지역사회관계이다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학부모의 학교활동 참여가 초등학생의 학업성취에 미치는 영향을 보면 학부모수준에서는 부모의 SES, 부모의 교육지원, 부모 자녀 관계, 부모의 학교활동 참여 횟수가 초등학생의 학업성취에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학교수준에서는 학부모 모니터링 횟수가 초등학생의 학업성취에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 교사의 학부모나 지역사회관계 인식은 초등학생의 학업성취에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과를 토대로 정책적 시사점 및 제언이 논의․제시되었다.

Using data from the second wave of Busan Education Longitudinal Survey(BELS), the study analyzed the influence of parent s school activity participation on elementary school student s academic achievement and provided the implications of policy for activating parent s school activity participation. The school activity participation of parents of elementary school students consists of school activity participation in parent level and school activity participation in school level. The variables of the parent level include parent s socioeconomic status, parent s educational support, parent-child relationship, number of the parent s school activity participation, and parent s school satisfaction, and the variables of the school level include number of person of parent s monitoring, number of parent s monitoring, perception of principal s parent or community, and perception of teacher s parent or community. The main results are as follows: First, the parent s socioeconomic status, the parent s educational support, parent-child relationship, and the number of the parent s school activity participation influenced elementary school student s academic achievement positively in the parent level. Second, the number of the parent s monitoring influenced elementary school student s academic achievement positively, but the perception of teacher s parent or community relationship influenced elementary school student s academic achievement negatively in school level. Based on the results, the political implications and suggestions were discussed.
