본 연구는 학습자 중심 수업에서 교수자가 학생들에게 피드백을 제공하는 수준이나 방법에 대해 스스로 점검할 수 있는 도구를 개발함에 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 협동학습이나 협력학습에서 교수자의 피드백 제시에 대한 관련 문헌자료를 검토하고, 대학 수업에서 실제 학습자 중심수업을 다년간 운영해 온 교수자 5명을 대상으로 그들의 수업경험에 대해 초점집단 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 여기에서 도출된 행동특성들을 중심으로 1차 예비검사 문항 51개를 개발하였고 전문가를 통한 내용 타당성을 확인받았다. 이를 통해 추출된 2차 예비검사 문항은 41개였고, 이를 중심으로 예비조사를 실시하였으며, 도출된 결과를 중심으로 문항분석 및 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 총 16 개 문항이 추출되었고 4개의 구성요인을 찾을 수 있었으며 이는 ‘과제에 대한 설명, 그룹별 도움 및지원, 학습과정의 점검 및 피드백, 학습 종료 후 평가’로 구성되어 있다. 다음으로 척도의 내적 타당 성을 확보하기 위해서 구성요인에 대한 확인적 요인분석을 통해 모형의 적합성을 검증하였고, 척도의 외적 타당성을 확인하기 위해 수업행동, 교수효능감의 구인과의 관계를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 개발된 척도의 외적 타당성 역시 확보되었다. 학습자 중심 수업을 운영하는 교수자는 본 연구에서 개발된 도구를 활용하여 보다 체계적이며 효과적으로 학생들에게 피드백을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이고, 학생들의 그룹학습은 더욱 적극적인 상호작용이 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
The purpose of the present study is to develop and validate a scale for measuring teacher’s feedback in learner-centered instruction. For this purpose, literature review on teacher’s feedback in learner-centered instruction and FGI with five experienced teachers were conducted. Firstly, 51 items were constructed based on the analysis of the preliminary data from literature and FGI. Secondly, 41 items were selected by the experts’ validation. Finally, 35 items that represent four sub-scales to be composed of ‘explanation on tasks’, ‘supports for group work’, ‘feedback and monitoring on learning process’, and ‘assessment after instruction’ were constructed by exploratory factor analysis. Furthermore, as a result of the verification of the concurrent validity based on the confirmatory factor analysis, this study proved that the scale is the appropriate construct of scale to measure teacher’s feedback in learner-centered instruction. It is expected that teachers implementing learner-centered instruction will be able to provide students with more systematic and effective feedback by using the tools developed in this study.
