Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) has been used extensively for the management of refractory chronic pain, including complex regional pain syndrome and failed back surgery syndrome. The progressive improvements in the selection criteria of patients, implantation devices, and techniques in implantation can lead to satisfactory results for the treatment of a range of chronic pain.
