2015 national music curriculum was revised based on key competencies to produce creative and convergent talented people for 21century. The key competencies of 2015 national music curriculum included self-management competency, cultural community competency, music communication skills, creative · convergent thinking skills for music, music-information processing skills, and aesthetic competency for music. At the UNESCO’s Asia Pacific Education Research Institutes Network (ERI-Net) annual meeting in October 2013, the term “transversal competences”, was adopted to reflect varying non-academic skills. The term refers to and encompasses skills, competencies, values, and attitudes required for the holistic development of learners. The domains of transversal competences consists of critical and innovative thinking, interpersonal skills, intrapersonal skills, global citizenship, media and information literacy, and (Optional)physical health and religious values. Therefore, music education should be constructed to focus on cultivating student’s ability to organize curriculum and textbooks, and implement and utilize the knowledge learned from music classes.
