This study attempts to analyze the Ukulele teaching certificate and curriculums of after school programs. The processes are as follows; first, private teaching certificates of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Traning(KRIVET) in music field and the current condition of organizations that issue certificates for Ukulele instructor were investigated. Second, through in-depth interviews with Ukulele instructors teaching at elementary, middle and high schools in Gwangju metropolitan city, types of certificates and processes of obtaining them were observed. Through the above methods, the study shows that the numbers and types of organizations related to Ukulele certification have increased gradually but there are differences in the name of Ukulele certification and the qualifications for the licence between private institutions. Therefore, we need to have a standard curriculum for Ukulele certification to teach our students. Additionally, it needs for schools to verify the teaching ability as well as Ukulele performance, when schools test Ukulele instructors.
