국외 유아 흡연예방교육 프로그램의 경향

International trend of the smoking prevention programs for young children

본 연구는 국외 선행 유아 흡연예방교육 프로그램들의 경향을 고찰하여 국내 유아 흡연예방교육 확대에 필요한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국외 유아 흡연예방교육 프로그램들을 내용 구성 및 운영을 기준으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아 흡연에방교육 프로그램들의 내용은 지식 및 실천의 내용으로 구성되어 있었고, 그 운영은 활동 중심의 교육 형태로 정규 교육과정과 통합되어 운영되었다. 둘째, 유아 흡연예방교육 프로그램들은 유아부터 초등 또는 중·고등학교의 학생들을 그 대상으로 하여 연계적으로 운영되었다. 셋째, 유아 흡연예방교육 프로그램들은 가정 및 지역사회와의 연계하여 운영되었다. 넷째, 유아 흡연예방교육은 교사교육 및 교육과정 평가와 병행되어 운영되고 있었다. 본 연구의 결과에 따른 시사점은 다음과 같다. 국내 유아 흡연예방교육 프로그램 효과적 및 장기적 운영을 위해서 유아 흡연예방교육은 전 연령과 연계하여 지속적으로 이루어져야하며, 지식 및 실천 내용의 활동 중심 및 통합적 교육 활동으로 구성되어야 한다. 또한 교육의 질적 보장을 위해 교사교육 및 평가가 있어야 하며, 프로그램의 효과를 높이기 위해 가정·지역사회와의 연계 활동 및 상호협력이 있어야 한다.

This study aimed to consider the international trend of the smoking prevention programs for young children, and to obtain the suggestions for the smoking prevention program in Korea. For this purpose, we analyzed 7 smoking prevention programs for early childhood children in overseas. As a result, firstly, their curricula activity-oriented and integrated and the content of the curricula was consisted of the contents of knowledge and practice. Secondly, the smoking prevention programs targeted all children from in early childhood to in adolescence and operated constantly. Thirdly, they were run in cooperation and mutual links with educational institutions, families, communities. Lastly, they had the teacher training program and the curriculum assessment. In conclusion, the smoking prevention program for children in early childhood in Korea should be started from educational institutes for children in early childhood and have the curriculum which is consisted of the contents of knowledge and practice and is activity-oriented and integrated. In addition, it should have the teacher training program and the curriculum assessment and build mutual cooperative connections with families and communities in order to operate on its long-term implication and to increase its effectiveness.
