이순신 八賜品내력 고찰

 • 73

This article studied on the history of Palsapum(八賜品) in Chungnyeolsa Shrine(忠烈祠) of Tongyeong(統營), which is regarded as symbol of Yi Sunsin(李舜臣). The Palsapum is 8 kinds of bestowed things to Yi Sunsin by Emperor Shenzong(明神宗). The Dudu stamp(都督印) among the Palsapum was first found in <Yi Sunsin sindobi(李統制忠武公神道碑銘)> written by Kim yuk (金堉) on 1658 (9th year of the reign of King Hyojong; 孝宗) or before then. Afterwards when Tongjesa trained the naval forces, Dudu stamp was enshrined in the main ship during the military training. When Tongjeyeong was abolished at the end of Joseon Dynasty, Palsapum was moved to Chungnyeolsa, the Shrine of Yi Sunsin and housed until now. Some authors argued against the records of Kim yuk in recent days. They argued that Palsapum was originally owned by Chen Lin(陳璘), or made by him, and given to Yi Sunsin for funeral rituals. However these opinions do not make sense. The Dudu stamp among the Palsapum is a governmental stamp, symbolizing the authority and prestige of emperor. It is committing a serious crime under the system of monarchy, for courtiers to give a governmental stamp to others or make it privately, as it can mean pretending as emperor. According to ≪Ming shilu(明實錄)≫, when Emperor Shenzong granted rewards to their ministers according to merits during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592(壬辰倭亂), he also let Joseon dynasty appreciate and honor Yi Sunsin. We need to look at the possibility that the Emperor Shenzong granted the Palsapum to Yi Sunsin as another privilege. If so, Joseon dynasty might have sent the palsapum to Jeolla jwasuyeong where Yi Sunsin was assigned as the first Tongjesa(統制使); Jeolla jwasuyeong(全羅左水營) bacame Tongjeyeong(統制營) of Yeosu(麗水) later. On the seaside of Jeolla jwasuyeong, there is Chungminsa Shrine, the first Shrine of Yi Sunsin, which was established by Xingjie(邢玠) of Ming dynasty. The Tongjeyeong was moved from Yeosu to Tongyeong on 1604 (37th year of the reign of King Seonjo: 宣祖). Palsapum was also moved to Tongjeyeong in Tongyeong.
