Tia DeNora’s Implications for Music Education Sociology

최근에 음악교육사회학에 관한 저술들이 몇몇 연구자들에 의하여 출판되고 있는데, 이 연구들은 음악사회학의 영향을 받는다. 본 연구는 Tia DeNora의 음악사회학을 중심으로, 음악교육사회학에 대한 시사점을 제안한다. 이에 앞서 DeNora에서 큰 영향을 준 Theodor Adorno의 음악사회학을 살펴본다. 다음에 DeNora의 음악사회학을 조사하고, 이 두 사람의 입장을 비교하여 공통점과 차이점을 분석한 다음에, DeNora가 음악교육사회학을 위하여 시사하는 바를 제안한다. 이러한 시사점에 의거한 음악교육적 연구들을 통하여 학생들이 어떻게 음악을 사용하고, 음악으로부터 혜택을 받으며, 주변의 음악에 대하여 어떻게 깨어있고, 어떤 점에 대하여 주의할지를 이해할 수 있을 것이다.

The writings about music education sociology, which have been published recently, have been influenced by music sociology. The purpose of this study is to examine the implications of Tia DeNora s music sociology for the study of music education sociology. First, I examine the music sociology of Theodor Adorno, who influenced DeNora. Next, I look into the music sociology of DeNora, compare the positions of the two scholars, discuss similarities and differences, and then suggest what DeNora implies for music education sociology. Future studies based on the implications will help students to understand how to use music, how to benefit from music, how to be mentally awakened to the surrounding music, and what aspect
