한국가족치료학회의 국제교류 추진방향과 과제 모색

A Review for the International Network of the Korean Association of Family Therapy

본고에서는 지난 30년간 본 한국가족치료학회(KAFT)의 국제교류 발자취 및 현황을 파악하면서 이와 더불어 미국가족치료학회(AAMFT) 및 아시아가족치료학회(AAFT)의 국제교류 동향도 함께 탐색하고자 하였다. 또한 이렇게 수집된 자료를 근간으로 향후의 본 학회의 국제교류 방향성 및 발전방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 자료분석 방법은 주로 텍스트 분석으로, 홈페이지 및 관련 자료들에서 발견되는 독립적 의미를 연결하여 맥락을 발견하고자 하였다. 본 학회의 국제교류 텍스트로는 한국가족치료학회 홈페이지 및 학회원들에게 소장된 일부 미간행 자료가 포함되었고, 미국가족치료학회 및 아시아가족치료의 국제교류 내용은 주로 해당 홈페이지에 제시된 국제교류 내용을 파악하였다. 조사결과에 기반하여, 향후 국제사회에서 한국가족치료학회의 국제교류 강화 및 리더쉽 확보를 위한 추진방향 및 과업은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 학회의 구체적 활동을 알리는 SNS 및 뉴스레터를 통하여 학문 및 임상 영역에서의 새로운 성과나 업데이트, 소식 등을 상호 공유한다. 둘째, 본 학회는 IFTA를 벤치마킹하여 아시아 국가들에서 가족치료사로 활동할 수 있도록 자격인증 제도를 도입한다. 셋째, 해외 가족치료 및 상담 관련 센터, 협회들 간에 단발적이 아닌 정기적인 교류를 지속한다. 넷째, 워크샵 또는 여러 국제적 학술교류 이후에 청중들의 피드백이나 반응을 초청 연사들에게 전달하여, 향후 한 차원 높은 국제교류의 아이템을 지속적으로 개발한다. 이상과 같이, 본 학회의 국제교류 현주소를 확인하고 더 나아가 지속적 성장을 위한 제언을 하였다.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to review the projects and works undertaken by the international network of the Korean Association of Family Therapy during the last 30 years, and to suggest directions and future goals for building and improving networks abroad in the field of family therapy. Methods: Text analysis was used to find information related to international perspectives from webpages for the Korean Association of Family Therapy and other international family therapy associations. Results: We made four suggestions. First, newsletters of KAFT should be disseminated to international organizations at least twice per year to share events, achievements, and updates in the clinical and academic field in Korea. Second, we should launch an international accreditation system in order to make KAFT’s certified family therapies applicable, especially in other Asian countries. Third, planning regular programs and events with clinical centers and organizations abroad may help with our better understanding clients with different cultural backgrounds. Fourth, it would be beneficial to provide feedback from attendees to international guest speakers and to develop strong relationships. Conclusions: Specific activities and suggestions applicable to the context of Korean family therapy were discussed.
