자유학기제 교육 정책에 따른 박물관 교육의 변화와 탐색 - 국립민속박물관 청소년 교육의 설계 모형 개발 -

The Analysis of Museum Education Trends based on Educational Policy -The development of museum education model in accordance with the free semester system-

본 연구에서는 2013년부터 국가적 차원에서 시행된 ‘자유학기제’ 교육 정책과 청소년을 대상으로 하는 박물관 교육과의 연계성을 살펴보고, 박물관 교육에서의 모형 개발을 통해 교육 정책에 따른 박물관 교육의 변화와 지속성을 살펴보고자 한다. 연구 자료는 자유학기제가 전면 시행된 2016년부터 2017년까지 국립민속박물관에서 진행했던 청소년 교육을 대상으로 하였다. 자유학기제에서 추구하는 창의적 융합인재상 개발 방향과 연계하여 박물관에서 교육 내용을 재구성하여 수업을 설계함으로써 자유학기제 시행에 따라 학교와 박물관이 유기적으로 연계할 수 있도록 효율적이고 효과적인 교육을 제공할 필요가 있다. 특히 교육 정책에 따른 학교 교육과 연계한 박물관 교육의 모형을 개발함으로써 체계적이고 일관성 있는 박물관만의 특별한 교육을 운영할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 자유학기제 수업의 특수성을 고려하여 박물관에서 지원해 줄 수 있는 수업설계 모형을 개발하여 지역사회를 대표하는 박물관에서의 교육을 모듈화 하는 것을 목적으로 자유학기제와 연계하여 교육 요소, 교육 주제와 목표, 교육 활동, 교육 내용, 교육 평가 등 5가지의 교육모형의 설계 원리와 5가지의 수업 설계 단계를 제시하였다. 마지막으로 박물관에서 진행하고 있는 자유학기제 연계 진로체험 교육, 문화체험 교육, 자율교육들이 어떤 형태로 만들어 지고 운영되고 있는지를 분석해서 교육 설계 모형을 개발하여 제시하고 모듈화 함으로써 자유학기제에서 강조하고 있는 지역사회의 하나이면서 자유학기제 연계 교육 제공처인 공공기관(박물관 등)에서 교육을 개발하고 운영하는데 도움이 되고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between the adolescence education and ‘the free semester system’ education policy that has been conducted since 2013 and to examine the trends of museum education through developing a model of museum education. The data were collected from the cases of National Folk Museum from 2016 to 2017 when the free semester system policy was fully implemented. It is necessary for the museum to provide education programmes through reconstructing contents in accordance with free semester so that schools can systematically interact with museums. Especially, the development of museum education model in accordance with education policy will lead to the operation of systematic and consistent education. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to modularize museum education which can represent local community through developing a design model which museums can support considering the uniqueness of the free semester system. This study suggests five elements of education model design: goal, theme, contents, activities, and evaluation. It analyzes the operation of museum education programmes such as career search activity and topic selection activity to develop an educational model, reinforcing the role of public institutions(museums) as a part of local community.
