화석정의 역사․문화적 가치와 활용방안 연구 - 역사적 고증과 복원문제를 중심으로 -

A Study on Methods Utilizing Historical and Cultural Value of Hwaseokjeong: Focusing on Historical Accuracy and Restoration of Pavilion Garden

본 연구는 화석정의 시문과 사진을 분석해 단일 정자가 아닌 별서원림으로서의 역사․문화적 가치에 주목해 화석정의 원형재현과 주변 활용방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 길재의 유지와 화석정 소각설과 관련한 진위를 밝혀 구비설화의 가치와 역사사료의 가치를 이원화하고 있다. 둘째, 단일 정자에서 별서원림으로의 개념 확장을 강조하고 있다. 건축물과 꽃, 괴석을 구심점으로 임진강 전면의 차경적 요소와 경물적 인지를 사료를 통해 분석하고 있다. 셋째, 화석정의 변천과정과 원형연구를 통해 구체적인 정면도와 투시도를 재현했다. 넷째, 화석정은 고명한 인물의 현판을 소장했던 곳으로 유식공간과 더불어 박물관 수장고의 기능을 가지고 있어 뭇 선비들이 완상을 즐기던 장소다. 당시 소장했던 현판을 사료를 통해 밝히고 있다. 다섯째, 화석정의 경관조감도를 만들어 주변 환경의 활용을 적극 꾀하고 있다. 기존의 역사문화자원을 활용한 ‘역사도보길’과 화석정 아래 임진강 석벽 및 적벽을 이용한 ‘뱃길관광벨트’를 제안하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 화석정의 별서원림관에 기초한 정면도의 재현과 주변 환경을 활용한 경관조감도의 제작에 의미를 부여할 수 있다. 문화유산은 한 시대와 장소에 정체되어 있는 것이 아닌 복합적인 시간성과 공간성이 함께 존재하는 것으로 과거의 기억과 현재의 삶을 보여주는 장소로 통합적 관리가 되어야 함을 강조한다.

Here, this research studied the historical significance and utilization method of Hwaseokjeong by paying attention to the cultural value as Byeolseowonrim (Pavilion Garden), not a mere pavilion, analyzing the literary works and photographs of Hwaseokjeong. This research considered restoration of the original form of Hwaseokjeong and affiliated utilization of its surrounding environment as below. First, this research dualized the value of oral folktale and historical material by determining the truth related to Giljae’s historical site and incineration of Hwaseokjeong. Second, this research emphasized extension of concept from a single pavilion to Byeolseowonrim. Also, this research analyzed the appropriative landscape factor and seasonal perception of the front side of Imjingang river mainly with the building, flowers, and oddly shaped stones through the historical materials. Third, this research reproduced the concrete front view and three-dimensional picture through the change process and research on the original form of Hwaseokjeong. Fourth, Hwaseokjeong stored the signboards of renowned persons, which had a function of museum warehouse along with relaxed space. This research determined the signboards stored during that period based on the historical materials. Fifth, this research actively intended to utilize the surrounding environment by creating the landscape aerial view. Also, this research suggested the waterway belt under Hwaseokjeong and trail tour belt utilizing the existing historical and cultural resources. Accordingly, this research could present the significance of reproduction of front view based on pavilion and garden of Hwaseokjeong and production of landscape aerial view utilizing the surrounding environment. The researcher emphasizes that cultural heritage should be comprehensively managed, as a place that shows the memories of the past and the present life, where complex temporality and spatiality, not a static place of a specific period.
