학습장애(난독증)학생의 고부담 평가 참여를 위한 검사조정에서 고려할 요소들: 공평성과 타당성의 균형 맞추기

Factors to Consider in Testing Accommodations to Participate in High-Stakes Assessment of Students with Learning Disability(Dyslexia): Balancing Fairness and Validity

본 연구의 목적은 학습장애(난독증)학생이 수능과 같은 고부담 평가에 참여할 수 있도록 검사조정을 제공하고자 할 때, 검사조정의 적격성 및 적절성을 판단하기 위하여 고려해야 할 요소들을 확인하는 데 있었다. 이를 위하여 학습장애(난독증)학생을 주요 연구대상으로 한 국내외 선행연구들에 대한 문헌 연구를 하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 학습장애(난독증)학생에게 왜 검사조정을 제공해야 하는지에 대하여 법률적, 임상적, 및 전문적 표준 근거를 제시해야 함을 확인하였다. 둘째, 학습장애(난독증)학생에게 다양한 형태의 검사조정이 제공될 수 있지만, 어떠한 검사조정이 적절한지에 대하여는 그러한 검사조정 조건이 공평성과 타당성을 확보하고 있어야 하며, 그 근거로 점수 및 과제 비교가능성이 있는지를 검토해야 함을 확인하였다. 셋째, 국내외 연구를 통하여 검사조정(시간연장 포함)의 효과 즉, 차별적 점수 향상을 확인함으로써 학습장애(난독증)학생에 대한 검사조정의 필요성 근거를 확인하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 논의를 통하여 학습장애(난독증)학생에게 시간연장 이외에도 다양한 유형의 검사조정을 제공할 수 있다는 점, 검사조정을 제공하고자 할 때는 전문적 표준을 준수해야 한다는 점, 검사조정(시간연장 포함) 효과 및 적정 연장시간 결정을 위한 잘 설계된 연구가 필요하다는 점, 그리고 검사조정의 적격성 판단 및 적절한 검사조정 방안 의사결정을 위한 다학문적 위원회의 구성 및 운영 필요성을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study was to identify factors that should be considered in order to determine eligibility and appropriateness of TA(test accommodations) when a student with learning disability(dyslexia) wanted to provided TA to participate in high-stakes test such as KSAT. For this purpose, I conducted a literature review of domestic and foreign studies with students with (learning) disabilities. The results of this study are as follows: First, it is confirmed that legal, clinical, and professional rationale should be supported as to why students should be provided with TA for them. Second, although various types of TA can be provided to students with learning disabilities(dyslexia), it is important that the TA conditions be fair and valid. Third, by confirming the effect of TA(including time extension), that is, ‘differential score boosting’, domestic and foreign researches confirmed the necessity of TA for students with learning disability(dyslexia). Based on the results of the study, I suggested that students with learning disabilities(dyslexia) can be provided various types of TA in addition to the time extension, that examiner must follow professional standards, that the need for a well-designed study to determine the appropriate time extension, and that the need for the construction and operation of a multi-disciplinary committee for the decision-making of the necessity and appropriateness.
