Aesthetic Value of Humanoid Robot

본 논문은 최근 세계적으로 활발하게 연구 개발되고 있는 휴머노이드 로봇의 미학적 가치를 탐구 한다. 이를 위해 제 2장에서는 유사-인간적 로봇에 대한 상상적 영감에 대해 살펴보았다. 그리고 예술 작품의 허구적 세계에서 벗어나 실제 현실에서 인간의 정체성에 대한 질문을 던지게 하는 현대적 휴머노이드의 발명 현황도 검토하였다. 이어서 제 3장에서는 인간의 미적 여망과 사유가 휴머노이드 로봇이라는 인공적이고 기계적인 생명을 만들려는 시도를 통해 표출되어 있다는 주장을 펼친다. 이를 위해 제2차 세계대전 이후 본격 등장하게 된 휴머노이드 로봇은 단순히 신체 패턴을 대리하는 행위에 그치지 않고 인간의 예술적 행위의 속성과 문화적 의식까지 표현할 수 있는 복합적인 미적 도구 로서 진화하고 있음을 논증한다. 결론적으로, 본 논문은 로보틱스의 상상력과 그 혁신의 결과물들이 오늘날 인간의 미적 감수성의 범주를 확장하는 데 기여하고 있고, 또한 인간 존재의 규범적 경계를 재정의하면서 새로운 미적 가치를 부여받고 있음을 확인한다.

This paper investigated the aesthetic value of humanoid robot which actively being researched and developed in the world nowadays. To do this, Chapter 2 examined the imaginative inspiration on the humanlike robot and considered the present condition of humanoid robot invention which made us to ask on the human identity in real world out of fictional world. And then, Chapter 3 proposed that aesthetic aspiration and thought on human were expressed from the trial for making artificial and mechanical life named humanoid robot. For this, I demonstrated that after World War II the humanoid robot evolved into complex aesthetic entity for expressing the properties of human artistic activities and cultural consciousness, rather the action taking place of physical patterns. Finally, this paper found that imagination of robotics and its revolutionary effect have contributed to extend the area of human aesthetic sensibility, and have endowed new aesthetic value by redefining the normative boundary of human being.
