관악기의 미생물 오염과 감염성 질환

The infectious disease caused by microbial contamination of wind instruments

관악기 연주 후 악기에 잔존하는 구강 상피 잔사, 음식물 입자와 타액은 미생물 서식에 좋은 환경을 제공한다. 이에 관악기의 위생 관리에 소홀할 경우 악기를 매개로 한 병원성 미생물의 전염에 대한 우려가 있다. 하지만 국내에 악기에 존재하는 감염균과 악기 위생 관리에 대한 연구, 조사는 극히 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 국제 연구 문헌 검색을 통해 실험과 임상 진단이 이루어진 연구를 선별하였으며 이들 분석을 통해 관악기에서 확인되는 미생물을 열람하고 이와 관련하여 발생할 수 있는 질환에 대해서 고찰하였다. 취주 악기를 통한 감염 역학과 질병 사례에 대한 리뷰(review)를 통해 음악 교육 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 관악기 위생 관리 방안을 제시하였다.

Oral epithelium, food debris, and saliva, which remains on instruments after performing wind instruments, provide a favorable environment for microbial survival. There is a concern about the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms via musical wind instruments. However, there is a lack of domestic research in South Korea. This study confirmed the presence of bacteria in wind instruments through international literature analysis. This study also reviewed diseases that were likely to spread through musical instruments. By compiling the previous details, guidelines for hygienic management of wind instruments were provided.
