지역정보학 관점에서의 현장 노트 개선 방안에 관한 연구

A Study on the Improvement of Field Notes from the Viewpoint of Area Informatics

일정한 지역의 지리나 역사, 문화 등을 종합적으로 연구하는 학문인 지역학에서는 해당 지역의 이해도를 높이기 위한 현지 조사가 필수적이다. 현지 조사에서는 연구자가 관찰한 내용 등을 현장 노트에 기록하는 것이 매우 중요한 작업이다. 일반적으로 현장 노트에 기록되는 내용은 설명적 정보와 반사적 정보로 구성되며, 현장 노트의 정보로는 서면 자료, 스케치 자료, 사진 등이 포함된다. 이러한 현장 노트가 지역학 연구 성과의 활용 및 공유에 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있음에도 불구하고, 기존에 수기로 작성하는 현장 노트는 여러 가지 문제점들을 가지고 있다. 수기 작성으로 인한 어려움뿐만 아니라 수첩이나 노트 형태의 현장 노트 정보들을 체계적으로 활용 및 공유하기에 많은 어려움이 발생한다. 이 문제점들을 해결하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기에서 앱으로 구동하는 전자 현장 노트를 제안한다. 세부적으로 전자 현장 노트를 위한 인터페이스 및 기능 설계와, 전자 현장 노트의 정보 관리 및 활용을 위한 서버 시스템 설계를 제시한다.

In the Area Studies that comprehensively study geography, history, and culture of a certain area, a field study is necessary to improve understanding of the area. In the field study, it is most important to record observations of the researchers in field notes. In general, the contents recorded in the field notes consist of descriptive and reflective information. The information on the field notes mainly includes written materials, sketch materials, and photographs. Despite the fact that these field notes play a very important role in utilizing and sharing the research achievements of Area Studies, the existing field notes written by hand have many problems. There are many difficulties in utilizing and sharing the information of the field notes recorded on paper as well as difficulties due to handwriting. To solve these problems, this paper proposes an electronic field note that runs on the mobile device as an app. The interface and function design for electronic field notes are presented in detail. Also, a server system design for management and utilization of electronic field notes information is presented.
