본 연구는 내현적 자기애와 진로미결정의 관계에서 경험회피의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대학 재학 중인 남녀 학생 508명을 대상으로, 직업미결정척도, 내현적 자기애 척도, 수용행동질문지를 사용하여 조사를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 내현적 자기애, 경험회피, 진로미결정은 모두 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 또한 내현적 자기애와 진로미결정의 관계를 경험회피가 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 구조방정식을 사용하여 변수의 경로를 가정하고 모형의 적합성을 검토한 결과, 부분매개모형을 최종모형으로 채택하였다. 즉, 내현적 자기애는 진로미결정에 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 경험회피를 매개로 간접적으로도 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로, 본 연구모형이 4년제 대학과 전문대학이라는 학교의 구분에 따라 유의한 차이를 보이는가를 확인하기 위하여 다집단 분석을 실시하였다. 4년제 대학과 전문대학 학생집단은 내현적 자기애가 경험회피에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 대학에서의 진로지도에 있어서의 본 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속 연구를 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.
In this study, I challenged to identify the mediating effect of experiential avoidance in relation between covert narcissism and career indecision. In order to achieve this, I conducted a survey of 508 students who are currently attending four-year and two-year colleges. Korean Career Indecision Inventory, Covert Narcissism Scale and Acceptance & Action Questionnaire-16 were used for the questionnaires. The results are as follows. First, there were significant positive correlations among covert narcissism, experiential avoidance and career indecision. Second, the relationship between covert narcissism and career indecision was partially mediated by experiential avoidance. I adopted partial mediation model as a final model and found the mediating effect of experiential avoidance significant. Not only did covert narcissism affect career indecision directly, but also affected career indecision indirectly through experiential avoidance. Third, I conducted a multi-group analysis using a structural equation modeling to verify if this study model indicated significant difference according to the college types. As a result, there was a statistically significant difference in the path from covert narcissism to experiential avoidance between four-year college group and two-year college group. Based on these results, I discussed the significance, limitations of this study and the suggestions for follow-up study.
