The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of food art therapy(FAT) group counseling program on academic self-efficacy of underachiever adolescents. The subjects were 20 students of Middle School in Gwangju, Korea. Ten subjects were assigned to the experimental group and ten to the control group. The experimental group received 8 sessions of FAT program(once a week, each session lasted 90 minutes). But there were no treatments for the control group. The data were analyzed with independent sample t-test and corresponding sample t-test. The conclusion of this study was that the academic self-efficacy of experimental group using the FAT group counseling program showed a statistically significant improvement in the post-test scores. On the other hand, academic self-efficacy in the control group was not statistically significant. Based on the finding results, discussion and implication for further research were suggested.
