한국사회에서 북한이탈주민의 성공적인 삶 이야기: 레질리언스를 중심으로

Story of successful settlement of North Korean defetocrs into South Korean society: Focused on resilence

본 연구의 목적은 한국사회에 입국한 북한이탈주민들이 똑같은 정착 환경 속에서도 성공적인 삶을 살아가고 있는 사례들에 주목하면서 북한이탈주민들이 잘 살아갈 수 있었던 긍정적으로 작용한 요인들을 탐색하여 북한이탈주민의 정착에 도움이 되는 기초자료를 확보하기 위한 것이다. 연구방법은 질적 연구방법으로 수행하였으며, 연구 참여자의 선정 기준은 한국사회에서 5년 이상 거주하고, 현재 직장(일)을 가지고 있으며, 가족을 구성하여 살아가고 있는 북한이탈주민이다. 이 기준을 충족하는 네 사례를 임의 표집하였으며, 자료 수집은 이들이 자유롭게 구술하는 정착과정 이야기들의 주된 내용이고 이를 Giorgi(1985)의 분석방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 성공적인 삶을 사는 북한이탈주민들에게 영향을 미친 요인들은 개 인적 배경(가족의 힘, 꿈, 성실한 직장생활, 책임감, 시련극복), 제도적 지원(주택, 교육), 사회적 지원(종교, 민간단체(NGO)의 역할(상담, 교육, 지지 등)으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to acquire basic data of the successful settlement for North Korean defectors in our society by examining positive factors and watching carefully their overcoming and positive life in difficult situations. The research method of this study is aqualitative one, and the cases are 4 North Korean defectors in random sampling who have lived for 5 years in our society and occupied their jobs, and supported their family members. Also, data collection contains mostly the story-tellings about the process of adaptation and settlement in South Korea. The affected primary factors for North Korean defectors successful life are individual ones(the power of family, vision, faithful work life, responsibility, overcoming trials), and institutional ones(housing, education), and social support (religion, the role of NGO : counselling, education, support, etc.).
