중국 대학생 영어독해 평가모형 구인타당도 연구

Study on Construct Validity of Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Test Items for Chinese College Students

본 연구는 중국 대학에서 실시되고 있는 영어독해 평가의 구인타당도 검토 연구를 통해 중국 대학의 영어 독해평가 요인과 검사의 양호도를 검토해보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구문제는 첫째, 중국 대학영어 성취도 독해평가 모형의 적합도는 어떠한가, 둘째 구인을 강화시킬 수 있는 효율적인 교수학습 방법은 무엇인가이다. 이를 위해 중국대학 영어 성취평가와 관련된 선행연구들을 종합적으로 검토하였고 실제 중국대학에서 사용되고 있는 성취도 평가도구를 활용하여 구인분석을 실시하였다. 연구도구는 안휘재경대학 1학년 학생들 대상으로 실시한 선다형 독해 평가문항 결과이며, 불성실 응답을 제외한 4887명의 자료를 활용하였다. 문항적합도 검증을 통해 내․외적합도가 부적합한 문항은 분석대상에서 제외시켰다. 요인분석 결과, 본 검사도구는 4개의 잠재적 역량을 측정하고 있었으며 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 설정한 모형 A와 모형 B의 적합도는 모두 양호하였다. 4개 요인 모두 높은 신뢰수준을 지닌 것으로 분석되었으며, 고차 요인모형 타당도 검증에서도 모형적합도가 유의한 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to validate the construct validity of reading comprehension and vocabulary parts in one of the college English achievement tests in China. The subjects of this study are 4887 first grade students in Anhui University of Finance & Economics in the multiple-choice reading comprehension and vocabulary parts of the achievement test. Through reliability analysis of test items, the test was proved to be a test appropriate for students’ ability and then through qualitative analysis, content construction appropriateness was verified. Through factor analysis, these two parts of the test were confirmed to have measured four kinds of potential latent, and then fitness of model A and model B were analyzed on theoretical basis. The results indicated that all the four factors had high confidence level, and model fitness was significant in the high-order factor model validity test. On basis of the results, this study provided some suggestions on how to improve construct of reading comprehension and vocabulary test. This study on construct validity of the reading comprehension and vocabulary items can provide guidance for teaching and learning, and then instruction and learning can be done in accordance with students’ aptitude, which will contribute to realization of tailored instruction and personalized learning.
