Physical Education Teacher Education Program of Indiana State University

본 연구의 목적은 인디애나주립대학의 체육교육과 교육과정과, 현재 교원양성과 교원자격증 취득을 위한 인디애나주의 규정을 소개하는데 있다. 인디애나주는 2010년 교원양성에 대한 새로운 규정이 설립되었고 2013년부터 적용되어 오고 있다. 새로운 교사양성 규정은 총 3단계로, 2년간의 레지던트 교사과정, 5년간의 교사 숙련과정, 10년간의 영구 교사과정 단계로 구성되어 있다. 인디애나주립대학의 체육교사 양성프로그램은 유치원부터 초등학생, 중학생, 고등학생까지 모든 교육과정의 교사양성이 가능하다. 교육과정은 다양한 전공 이론 및 실기 학습과정, 교육학지식 학습, 마이크로 티칭 과정 등으로 구성되어 있다. 그리고 교생실습 과정이 양적, 질적으로 잘 구성되어 있다. 마지막으로 통합 강의 분석과 반성적 수업평가시스템을 도입, 적용하고 있다.

The purpose of this paper was to introduce the Physical Education Teacher Education Program (PETE) and its curriculum at Indiana State University (ISU) while providing the current trend of teacher education and license rule changes in Indiana State. The most recent license rule change occurred in 2010 and have been fully implemented since 2013. There are three levels of licensure: 1) Initial license: 2-year license with residency, 2) Proficient license: 5-year license, and 3) Accomplished license: 10-year license. ISU had offered PETE for all grade levels (i.e., P-12). The PETE curriculum consists of four major areas: 1) Required Skill Proficiency Courses, 2) Theory and Methods Courses, 3) Cognate Courses, and 4) Professional Preparation Courses. The importance of early filed experience and field experience was highly emphasized and integrated into the program.
