The internationally adopted standards take very important role in trading of textile and fashion industries which have huge and complicated supply chain network. However, it is sometimes shown that lack of characteristics and quality of product which is newly designed and developed because the its related standards are not introduced. For example, the clothing which is made of organic cotton or recycled materials are introduced to consumers. But any international de jure standard does not cover those kind of new sustainable fashion product. To solve this problem, the private standards which are developed by consortium or forum managed by participation of stakeholder. In addition, product and process certification programs are introduced which are based on those private standards . However, the private standards and certification programs are criticized due to its lack of clearance of standard development process . To protect the interests of certain stakeholder group for the design of standards and certification programs may be developed by interested parties. The actual condition which is used with the tool the private standard for the profit creation of the enterprise is appearing. Global network to configure the development of the fashion industry supply chain can not to be involved in development of standards there has been shown as structural problems. This study is a review of these issues and the prospects for further improvement.
