Recently, one of the most environmentally important issues is the hazard of materials. Each country makes the efforts to prevent from inputting the hazardous materials and make the regulation to restrict the hazardous material. This study aims to provide the method for risk assessment in the paper packaging production process. In the result of this study, heavy metals were effected the most to the human through the freshwater in the stage of exposure analysis. In the stage of damage analysis, Cr6+ emitting to the water was the most hazardous in the carcinogenic effects on humans and Cd emitting to the air was the most hazardous to ecosystem quality caused by ecotoxic emissions. Finally, using the method which this study provided, paper packaging industries can respond to the international environmental regulations.
