FTIR is the useful and efficient tool for analyzing the gases, therefore widely used in reaction-to-fire test area. On-going projects related the fire models with gas analysis using FTIR in ISO TC92 SC1 are introduced. Preliminary experimental study was conducted for the purpose of checking the possibility that the toxicity of the fire gases from the building materials could be evaluated using the cone calorimeter and FTIR gas analyzer. The presentation on necessity of developing the standard for combining the cone calorimeter with the FTIR was made ISO TC92 SC1 meeting at November 2013.
