The negative attitude to AIDS and patients with AIDS (PWA) is the greatest barrier to prevent further infection, and to provide adequate care, support, and treatment. Lack of knowledge is one of the factors triggering negative attitude toward AIDS and PWA. It has shown that the traditional methods of AIDS education cou ld increase AIDS- related knowledge but may not always improve positive attitude toward AIDS and PWA. Purpose: The purpose of thi s study was to investigate the effects of AIDS education adding sociodrama with slide compared with that using discussion with slide on AlDSrelated knowledge and attitude to AIDS and PWA among middle school students. Method: Sixty-four middle school students who had power point slide lecture for 40 minutes were divided into sociodrama group(n=32) and discussion group(n=32). The response of subjects were measured by AIDS-related Knowledge Scale and AIDS-related Attitude Scale. Data were analyzed using x2-test, t - test, paired t- test and ANCOVA. Result: AIDS-related knowledge and attitude score after AIDS education in sociodrama group were significantly increased. AIDS- related knowledge and attitude score after AIDS education between sociodrama group and discussion group were significantly different. Conclusion: These results showed that AIDS education adding sociodrama session is very useful method to make a positive attitude toward AIDS and PlNA in middle school students.
