교원양성기관 학교현장실습 운영 현황 분석: 초등교원양성기관을 중심으로

An Analysis on the Operation of the Teaching Practicum at Teacher Preparation Institutions for Elementary Pre-service Teachers in Korea

본 연구의 목적은 초등교원양성기관의 교육실습 운영 현황을 파악하는 것이다. 본 목적을 달성하기 위해 13개 초등교원양성기관(교육대학교 10개교 및 일반대학교 초등교육과 3개교)의 교육실습 교육과정 및 운영 지원체제 관련 자료를 수집하였고, 문헌분석 방법(document analysis)을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 수행을 위해 선행연구에서 제시하는 교육실습의 개념과 교원자격검정 실무편람에 기재된 세부 규정 항목들을 토대로 여섯 가지의 항목을 선별하여 만든 연구 분석틀을 가지고 분석하였으며, 여섯 가지 항목은 교육실습의 유형, 목적 및 내용, 실습시기, 실습기간, 이수학점, 실습대상학교이다. 연구 결과 첫째, 교육실습의 유형은 각 기관에 따라 참관실습, 수업실습, 실무실습과 하나 이상의 유형을 합친 유형, 세 가지를 모두 합친 종합실습, 그리고 기타 유형으로 농산어촌 및 도서벽지 실습과 수시실습이 운영되고 있다. 둘째, 교육실습의 내용은 기관별로 각 실습 유형의 내용이 비슷하며, 상이한 실습 유형에서 실습 내용이 중첩되어 나타나는 경향도 보였다. 셋째, 교육실습의 시작 및 종료 시기는 각 기관마다 상이하였으며, 넷째, 교육실습 평균 기간은 9주이고 각 기관마다 편차가 있었다. 다섯째, 이수학점은 2-4학점과 P/F 학점으로 운영되고 있었다. 여섯째, 교육실습 대상학교는 부설초등학교와 실습협력학교로 교원자격검정 실무편람에서 제시하고 있는 학교 유형에서 교육실습이 이루어지고 있었다. 이와 같은 결과를 토대로 정책 제언과 추후 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and understand the current teaching practicum system of elementary pre-service teachers in Korea. To conduct research, the study analyzed curriculum and operational system of thirteen teacher preparation institutions by using document analysis method. The study used a conceptual framework with six elements that are types, purpose and content, time, duration, credits of teaching practicum, and schools to perform teaching practicum. The results are as follow. First, types of teaching practicum are observation practicum, teaching practicum, practical practicum, a teaching practicum type that consists of more than two types, overall practicum that contains all three types, and a practicum performed in rural areas and a practicum performed frequently for a longer period of time for other types of teaching practicum. Second, the purpose and contents of teaching practicum are similar by institutions, and some of the contents of different teaching practicum are tended to be overlapped. Third, start and end time of teaching practicum varies by institution and fourth, the average teaching practicum duration is nine weeks and there are also variations by institution. Fifth, teaching practicum is being operated from two to four credits and some institutions credited student teachers with P/F. Sixth, schools to conduct teaching practicum are the types of schools that are indicated in the notification by the Ministry of Education. The study suggested political implication and further directions based on the results.
